Due to our busy schedule, we've been remiss in updating the site lately. So, we apologize to some of the projects that haven't been mentioned...

During the Writer's Strike, David Fox helped produce a number of storyboard "animatics" for the Adam Smith Academy to help students comprehend and retain classic literature more easily through mobile devices, ike iPods, and online streaming video. To date, he's produced five illustrated and narrated short stories: James Joyce's "The Boarding House," Anton Chekhov's "The Bet," Aesop's "The Fox and the Crow," Edgar Allan Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart," Ambrose Bierce's "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge," with three more in post-production.

Fox Cinematography has gone bi-coastal! With the opening of a new office in the South, Fox Cinematography is looking forward to servicing existing and new clients from Florida to Washington DC. Additionally, the new office will help service our existing European clients. Please contact us for details.

Citrix Systems and Heaven Films booked David Fox again to shoot and provide production services for the latest GoToMyPC.com commercial. The new comedy spot shows a businessman and his wife rock climbing before literally picked up and dragged back to the office. The spot is set to air in the second quarter of 2007.

Fox Cinematography provided production services for the comedy film, "Don't Gag Me!" The comedy film stars Carla Sabah and was directed by Jeff Cohen. The film is currently in post-production and slated to be released in the spring of 2007.

David Fox shot "Hard|Sand," a beach volleyball film, in early-October. The film stars Jennifer Peo. Manhattan Beach Productions, LLC actually produced the film in Orange County, due to LA County and the South Bay beach cities making it cost-prohibitive to shoot the film in-town.

Dave Fox wrote and shot Citrix Systems' latest GoToMyPC.com commercial, directed by Michael Holt and produced by Heaven Films. The comedy spot, where a businessman attempting to enjoy his time off with his family is literally picked up and dragged back to the office, is set to air in the fourth quarter of 2006. Due to the popularity of the spot, it's runtime has been extended through the 1st quarter of 2007. Look for it!

David Fox is returning to Italy in July to shoot "Simon - The Obscure," chronicling the apostle during the events of the Passion of Jesus Christ. The 35mm film will be shot in Matera, Italy, where Mel Gibson's, "The Passion of the Christ" was shot.

Fox Cinematography has been booked to shoot the 35mm short film, "The Ensnaring". The film will be directed by Adam Cultraro, and shot in Laguna Beach, CA.

David Fox has been booked to shoot the Panavision New Filmmakers Grant Program short film, This Solace Eternal. Jennie Na is directing the ambitious 35mm film about the search through forgotten memories to find a place of solace in eternity.

John Sparano and Dave Fox teamed up once again to shoot the film, "Due" ("Two" in English) in beautiful Tricase, Italy. The film was produced by Luigi Campanile, and stars italian television star, Claudia Ruffo. George Thompson Diamond Co. in Camarillo booked Dave Fox to direct and shoot their new 35mm commercial. The :30 second spot was shot at scenic locations throughout Southern California to enhance the beauty of George Thompson's Diamonds. The commercial is currently airing in Ventura, Los Angeles and Orange Counties for the holidays.

To our great surprise, two films that David Fox made for The Toolshed, almost 10 YEARS AGO, made an appearance on YouTube.com. Both Slappy: The 13th Apostle and Grandma's Tale where made on 16mm, and went on to debut at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in 1999. (To this day, David Fox is the only director to have two films to be accepted at the US Comedy Arts Festival in the same year.)


Citrix Systems & Heaven Films booked Director of Photography Dave Fox and the Fox Cinematography camera crew to shoot a new commercial campaign for GoToMeeting.com. Dave Fox employed the 35mm Arriflex 535A camera with color video tap package for the three spots. Look for the commercials to air in January nationwide.Dave Fox completed shooting a low-budget "Untitled" 35mm romantic comedy feature film in Orange County, CA. And, while the 13-day, multiple location schedule proved rather daunting, the cast and crew prevailed in the end, delivering the film to the producers one day early.

Fox Cinematography just completed Roderick Todd's directing debut 35mm short film, Jacob's Trouble. The one-day, 7-minute SAG-short film starring Tommy Hicks was shot in the Fox Santa Clarita "Studio House" location with our crew, production equipment, post-production vendors and editing facilities - proving once again Fox Cinematography's true script-to-screen capabilities. From shoot to picture cut, the film was delivered in just 8-days!!


"REALITY SCHOOL" IS NOW PLAYING ONLINE @ AOL.com & MOVIEFONE SHORT FILM FESTIVAL!!! Additionally, "Reality School" became a Moviefone Short Film Competition Finalist, due to popular demand and the votes of online viewers!

Dave Fox completed shooting Pamela Keys' 35mm short film, Two for Paula. The short was shot over 3-days in Hollywood, CA. The following is a direct quote from the film's producer, Moe Orozco, after telecine: "So we got thru about two rolls so far. But everyone there said that that was the best stuff they've seen in a long time. It looked really, really good. A few people asked me who my DP was so kudos to yourself and tip your hat." Thanks, Moe! The crew and I appreciate your comments.

Mob.tv recently hired the Fox Cinematography to shoot a series of commercials for the US and International market. The commercial campaign was shot with our 35mm camera package, and transferred to both NTSC and PAL. Producers requested edgy visuals with a music video flair to support their downloadable music ringtones. When Producers saw the footage, they literally got up and started dancing in the telecine room! And, while it wasn't the prettiest sight, it was quite a compliment. Thanks guys!

Dave Fox and the Fox Cinematography production crew were recently hired to shoot a segment for the television documentary "History of Black Cinema" to air on the Lifetime Channel during Black History Month. Visual Urban Media from Chicago made the call only the night before the shoot, but it wasn't a problem. Our crew and equipment were assembled by 10pm, and ready to shoot the next morning at 8am! According to the VUM producer, no other production company in Los Angeles had the capacity to leap into action as quickly as Fox Cinematography.

Citrix Systems booked us again to shoot a new series of commercials for GoToMyPC.com. The spots were shot on 35mm with our Arriflex camera and lenses. One of the spots included some special-effects production techniques on Ben Kitay Studio's greenscreen stage in Hollywood. To view some production stills, scroll down. After more than a year of toil and uncompromising determination, Delirium, an 18-minute, 35mm dramatic short film, shot by Dave Fox, is finally done! Incredible production quality, beautiful imagery and tons of special effects will no doubt make this "labor of love" a film festival favorite. In a pinch, Dave Fox was flown out to Austin, Texas to shoot 2nd Unit and operate "B" Camera for the feature film, Drop Dead Sexy starring Jason Lee and Crispin Glover. The last week of filming required multiple cameras for some of the film's stunt and special effects work, and had yet to shoot any establishing shots for the entire film. So, with a few hours notice, Dave grabbed his light meter, threw some clothes together, and jumped on a plane to be available to shoot that evening. (Watch Trailer from SXSW)

American Cinematographer
writes about the Captive Audience & Icon Productions 35mm - CGI/Makeup Test shot by Dave Fox for the runaway hit, The Passion of The Christ (Feb. 2004 issue). The Test footage was essential in determining whether or not the special effects and make-up employed would work for many of the controversial whipping and scourging scenes in the movie shot later in Italy.

PacifiCare booked Fox Cinematography to shoot a recent high-end corporate video. Dave Fox employed the new P+S Technik 35mm lens adapter for digital video, giving the project a film-look without a film budget. PacifiCare was so impressed with the footage that they asked the producers several times if they actually shot it on film and needed more money to cover the costs.

"Reality School," written and directed by John Sparano continues its incredible film festival run with a screening at the U.K's famous Raindance and the Palm Springs International Film Festival. Over the course of the last year, the 16mm short has screened at over a dozen film festivals, and been picked up for distribution by Hypnotic. BREAK NEWS: Reality School is now a television pilot that was again shot by David Fox in 24p.

Fox Cinematography wrapped principal photography on the 35mm sci-fi feature film trailer, Dark Nexus. Writer/Director Jeff Pruitt chose David Fox based on his extensive special effects experience, and the unique ability to package all elements of production and post.

Last year's feature film production, Choices, starring the rap group Three 6 Mafia and rapper Project Pat, is now available on DVD and VHS. David Fox shot "Choices" on Super 16 with an Aaton XTR-prod, and utilized FotoKem's Skip Bleach process to give the gritty story a unique look.

Sekani.com and Guy Guillet have hired Fox Cinematography and David Fox to shoot a collection of 35mm images for a new royalty-free Business CD. The shoot will take place at the Corbis Marina del Rey offices.

David Fox shot the opening "Couch Gag" for The Simpsons. That's right! This is the first time the Fox animated television series and Film Roman has ever shot the opening live-action, and we were happy to shoot it with our 35mm Arriflex Camera, Light and Grip package.
